The South Korean pop sensation BTS has taken both domestic and international weekly music charts by storm with their fifth studio album, 'Arirang', achieving significant commercial success.
Based on the data released by Hanteo Chart, an esteemed album sales tracking platform, BTS's 'Arirang' has not only captured the top position on the weekly world chart but also on the album chart for the period from March 23 to March 29. Remarkably, this achievement came merely three days following its release on March 20, and it steadfastly held the leading position for a fortnight.

As highlighted by an advance article from the influential American music publication Billboard on the 30th, 'Arirang' has secured the number one spot on the coveted 'Billboard 200' main album chart, dated April 4. The album debuted with an impressive 641,000 units sold, marking a significant milestone as the highest weekly sales achieved by a group album since the establishment of unit tracking in December 2014. Out of these units, a substantial 532,000 were purely from album sales, encompassing both physical copies and digital purchases, setting a new benchmark for group albums in over a decade.
Globally, BTS has asserted their dominance across various music platforms. Their presence was strongly felt on Spotify's weekly charts, such as 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' on a global scale during the period of March 20-26. The standout track 'SWIM' claimed the top spot on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart, and impressively, all 14 tracks from 'Arirang' were featured within the top 30 rankings.
The track 'SWIM' has consistently held the number one position on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global', remaining there for nine days from March 20-28 and seven days from March 23-29, respectively. Furthermore, every track from the album appeared on the most recent chart listings for both platforms. Even ten days post-release, both the title track and the entire album continue to resonate with music fans worldwide, demonstrating their widespread appeal and enduring popularity.
In the near future, BTS is set to captivate audiences during the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'', which will take place at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. As the tour progresses, they are scheduled to grace stadium stages across South America, including in nations such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil throughout October. All 46 concerts, spanning locations from Goyang to North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have witnessed rapid sell-outs, underlining the group's formidable draw power and widespread appeal.
